How long will it take for the application to be processed?

Complete applications take seven days to process.

Can I make multiple applications for all the remote workers in my company?

Yes, you can apply for multiple workers in your company to work remotely in Barbados for up to 12 months. After 12 months it will be possible to reapply for a further year.

Will my family have to apply individually?

No; families can apply under this programme. The Family Bundle Fee is US $3,000.00

Do I have to stay in Barbados for the entire year or can I travel in and out of the island?

You must come to Barbados within 12 months of the date your visa is issued. After you arrive in Barbados, you can travel into and out of Barbados as many times as you like before your visa expires.

Does the Barbados Welcome Stamp allow employment with a Barbados employer?

No. This visa allows you to work remotely for companies and individuals outside of Barbados only.

Do supporting documents have to be provided in English?

Documents in a language other than English must be accompanied by an English translation that is certified by a translator. Verified copied of the original with the translation should be included in the application.

Will I be subject to paying Barbados Income Tax?

No; you will not be liable to pay Barbados Income Tax.

Can I get an extension on the visa?

Yes; visa holders Those on the visa can re-apply to extend their Welcome Stamp.

Once approved, do we have to move to the island within a given time?

No; the Welcome Stamp is valid for 12 months from the date of approval.

How reliable is the Internet in Barbados?

Barbados boasts the fastest fibre Internet and mobile services in the Caribbean.

Will I be able to obtain health insurance?

Yes, you may obtain medical insurance on island, but it is recommended that you already have it upon arrival.

Is there any nightlife in Barbados?

Barbados is home to varied nightlife and entertainment choices ranging from small and intimate to several large festivals throughout the year. Nightclubs, restaurants, beach bars, exciting attractions, are just some of the activities of interest.

Is Barbados open to different religions?

Barbados is home to dozens of different religious denominations. In addition to Anglican, Catholic and Evangelical Christians, there are places of worship for Jehovah’s Witnesses, Methodists, Moravians, Jews, Muslims, Rastafarian, Seven Day Adventists, Buddhists, Bahais and Spiritual Baptists.

Can non-national children attend schools during the 12-month period?

Non nationals may attend private schools or pay a small stipend for attendance at the state owned public schools.

Education is compulsory for children between the ages of 5 and 16. There are also several tertiary education institutions including the University of The West Indies and the Barbados Community College.

How can I get around the island?

There are several choices, including taxis, public transport buses and minivans. You can also rent cars or bicycles, including electric bicycles.

How reliable is public transportation?

Barbados has one of the densest and most accessible road networks in the Caribbean, making travel around the island easy. Public and private transportation run daily.
